Kahve is a cozy café tucked into the suburban calm of Strathmore, offering a calm retreat for locals wanting a reliable spot to catch up or work quietly over a cup. Located on Willonga Street, it’s the kind of place where the pace slows down, and the friendly staff make you feel right at home from the moment you step inside.

The café’s vibe is unpretentious and intimate, with a clean, simple decor that complements its tucked-away location. Easy parking nearby adds to the convenience, especially for those popping in during the morning rush or mid-afternoon lull. You’ll spot a mixture of regulars settling in with laptops and neighbours grabbing a quick, quality bite.

Coffee quality here tends to spark a range of opinions, but most agree the beans are thoughtfully selected and the baristas take their craft seriously. Whether you’re after a straightforward black coffee or something creamier, the barista skill shows through in the preparation, though some might find the brews a little lighter than standard café fare. It’s a spot where you can linger over a second cup or take a well-made milkshake as a treat.

The menu leans into simple but satisfying offerings, with a clear nod towards accommodating dietary preferences—gluten-free and dairy-free options are available, reflecting a modern sensibility. Toasties and gozleme stand out as quick, filling choices, balancing fresh ingredients and straightforward flavour. Pastries and sweet treats from local purveyors add a touch of indulgence without fuss.

Best visited on quieter weekday mornings or late afternoons, Kahve fits best into a routine for those living or working nearby who appreciate a break from their day in a relaxed but well-curated space. Locals use it as a convenient spot to meet, recharge with good coffee, and enjoy a simple bite without the rush or pretense found in busier inner-city cafés.

Ultimately, Kahve serves as a comfortable neighbourhood hub, where the warmth of service and a modest yet thoughtful menu make it a low-key spot to slow down and settle in, even if just for a brief pause between errands or meetings.

Service is super friendly & fast. Milkshakes are tasty and the bikkies from Costa’s Biskorery are yummo. Coffee was a little weak for my tastes. Great local for those close by in lockdown.

Stopped by to have a fee sandwiches. Staff are lovely and very welcoming. Didn't try the coffee yet, but gives us a reason to go back.

Extremely cosy, I like how it’s tucked away in the suburbs, easy parking even if you can’t park close, clean and cute little precinct. Their food and coffee are super delicious and cool, and I love their decor as well.

I recently visited Kahve and was blown away by the entire experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff. The atmosphere is inviting and stylish, perfect for a relaxing coffee break or catching up with friends. Just like other reviewers have mentioned, the coffee at Kahve is truly the best in Melbourne. They clearly use high-quality beans and their baristas are experts at crafting delicious brews. I also tried a Sujuk cheese toastie from their selection and it was fresh, cheesy and absolutely delicious. Overall, Kahve Cafe is a fantastic addition to Melbourne's cafe scene. The combination of excellent coffee, delicious food, and friendly service makes it a must detour for anyone in the area.

Great find just out of the way. Lots of authentic and tasty treats - I really wanted to walk out of there with my hands full :). I love the fit out of the building - really well done. The staff are really friendly, up for a chat and I'll go out of my way to come back for sure. Coffee was good, but ask for a double shot if you like it strong. The commitment to the history of the local area is really nice to see and puts a smile on my face even now just thinking about it.
